Clerkship Program

The Clerkship (externship) program has been a long standing component of the Highlands residency program.  Students bring an excitement and freshness to the community.  We have prided ourselves in providing a teaching opportunity for students from all the different podiatric medical schools around the country.  We often select our residents from the most outstanding students.  This is why our clerkship program is so competitive.

The students get a full exposure to the program from surgery to all the different clinics.  They assist the residents in all aspects of the program from in house patient rounds to surgery.  The students actively participate in our academic endeavors and are responsible for providing a lecture at the conclusion of their month.

The externship month provides a great variety of rewards.  Most students that go through this program are well prepared for the upcoming residency interview process and gain insight into a highly productive and energetic residency.
